A Reiki Session consists of…
During each meeting we discuss what issues you’d like to address, set an intention or two, then start the actual energy work on you, bringing calmness and ease.
The client lays, fully clothed, except socks, on a massage table, or, if needed, sits comfortably in a chair. To begin, hot towels on the client’s feet, oils specifically chosen for each person are applied to the feet and anywhere else they are needed, the chakras are tested and balanced, the aura is cleansed and hand placements to unblock any areas where the energy isn’t flowing properly and administered. Some of the work is hands on, with light, non-invasive touch, and some is above the body. Instruments such as crystals, pendulums and/or tuning forks are used as needed.
In some ways, there is no “typical” Reiki session with no set protocol. Each session is different, while certain aspects will remain the same. The client starts out laying on their back and may or may not be asked to turn over onto their stomach depending on what the particular individuals body needs at that time. If one is not able to, or it’s uncomfortable to be in one or both of these positions, please make this known beforehand. There are other options. If at any time adjustment is required in order to feel more relaxed it is encouraged. If anything can be done to increase comfort feel free to say so at any time. All that is needed from the client is to relax, wear comfortable clothing, be open to the experience and vocalize would enhance the session. This experience is all about the person reiki is being administered on and their needs.
After the session a discussion about what was experienced by the practitioner as well as the client and what the next steps should be. Drinking plenty of water after each session and following the needs one’s body is telling them are essential .
What might be experienced…
Each experience is subjective, changeable, and, sometimes, subtle. Some experiences might include, sensations of hot or cold, tingling or vibrations, to name a few.
Additional things one might experience, but not limited to, are:
-seeing colors, shapes, words, etc
-pulsations
-smells
-waves
-hearing sounds
-release of stress
-feelings of hovering
-deep relaxation
-falling asleep
-being in a meditative state
-emotional release
-plus much more
Results may show up immediately and you may see and notice changes unfold as time goes on.
